COURSE OVERVIEW:
This module covers the COBOL verbs needed to define and process arrays, including the use of nested PERFORM statements. Processing for indexed files is also covered.
PREREQUISITES:
COBOL Module II or equivalent skills

Unit 1 - Tables, the OCCURS clause, the PERFORM...TIMES instruction, the PERFORM...VARYING instruction, the REDEFINES clause
Unit 2 - Writing a program that uses a table
Unit 3 - The PERFORM...THROUGH instruction, nested PERFORM instructions, the GO TO instruction, the floating dollar sign and floating numeric sign editing symbols, the BLANK WHEN ZERO option
Unit 4 - Examining a program example that uses tables and the PERFORM...VARYING, PERFORM...TIMES, PERFORM...THROUGH, and GO TO instructions
Unit 5 - The EXIT instruction, nested conditionals, the GO TO...DEPENDING ON instruction, an introduction to indexed files
Unit 6 - Accessing an existing indexed file dynamically, opening a file for input and output, accessing a file randomly, the START instruction, the READ...NEXT instruction, the INVALID KEY clause, the REWRITE instruction
Unit 7 - Review of units 1 through 6
Test - Comprehensive final exam
